Management of the Local Content Curriculum for Kitab Kuning (Classical Islamic Texts) at SMP Al Wafi International Islamic Boarding School

Abstract

This study discusses the management of the local content curriculum for Kitab Kuning (classical Islamic texts) at SMP Al Wafi Depok, Sawangan District. The aim of this study is to determine the stages in the management of the local content curriculum for Kitab Kuning at SMP Al Wafi International Islamic Boarding School, including planning, implementation, and evaluation. This study uses a qualitative research approach. Data collection techniques include interviews, documentation, and observation. The subjects of this study consist of the Principal, the Vice Principal for Curriculum Affairs, and the teachers of the local content subject Kitab Kuning at SMP Al Wafi International Islamic Boarding School. Data analysis techniques follow the Miles and Huberman framework, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that the management of the local content curriculum for Kitab Kuning at SMP Al Wafi runs well. The indicators used are the continuous implementation of the curriculum stages, from planning to implementation and evaluation. The planning stage of the local content curriculum consists of developing curriculum components such as the Annual Program (Prota), Semester Program (Promes), Syllabus, and Lesson Plan (RPP), involving the Principal, the Vice Principal for Curriculum, and the subject teachers. Furthermore, the implementation stage of the local content curriculum consists of learning activities, namely preliminary activities, core activities, and closing activities. The evaluation of the learning process is carried out through daily assessments and semester assessments. Finally, the evaluation stage of the local content curriculum, specifically the program evaluation, is conducted at the end of the academic year so that follow-up actions can be taken during the planning of the new academic year.
